Jack A. Davis is CEO of J.A. Davis and Associates and a member of the faculty of the Johns Hopkins University Division of Public Safety Leadership. Jack retired in August, 2005, from the U.S. Marine Corps, as Major General. He served as Vice Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Atlantic and U.S. Marine Corps Bases, Atlantic; and, Deputy Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe. Jack was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University in 1968. He became Major General in August 2000.
In a career that includes service in both Vietnam and Desert Storm, Jack commanded units at every level; from an infantry platoon in Vietnam to Commanding General of the 4th Marine Division. He has held numerous command and staff positions for both active duty and reserve units. He served as the Director of the Secretary of the Navy's Drug Demand Reduction Task Force. In Naples, Italy he acted as the Deputy Commander Marine Forces, Joint Task Force Noble Anvil supporting NATO operations in Kosovo. He was the Director of Operations Division, Plans, Policies and Operations, Headquarters, Marine Corps. Jack served as Commanding General Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, Commanding General II MEF Augmentation Command Element, Commanding General 4th Force Service Support Group, and Commanding General Marine Corps Logistics Bases. Jack completed a distinguished law enforcement career with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation in the spring of 1999, retiring at the rank of Major.
