Dr. Harnett is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and faculty member of the Division of Public Safety Leadership. She has extensive experience in teaching /supervising graduate and undergraduate students in traditional and non-traditional course formats. Dr. Harnett is a former Coordinator of Training for a doctoral internship program and a former graduate director of a clinical psychology program.

In the Police Executive Leadership Program, she teaches both graduate and undergraduate students such topics as: the power of situational influences on behavior, topics in positive organizational psychology, leadership resilience, and applied statistics and survey research methods. In addition, she delivers management development seminars on similar topics for law enforcement agencies and national organizations such as the Department of Homeland Security.

Dr. Harnett was recently awarded the Medal for Civilian Achievement by the Maryland National Guard for her leadership efforts in development of the Resilience Module of the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program. She is a member of the reintegration faculty team, and in addition, she is a civilian member of the Department of Defense, Center for Excellence, All Services Resilience Workgroup.
