Dr. Peggy Murphy is a DPSL faculty member with leadership responsibility for the Terrorist Early Warning project. Peggy’s teaching involves both graduate and undergraduate courses in PELP, FELP, and the Federal Executive Development programs. After an eleven-year tenure, Peggy retired as Vice President and second-in-command of the Baltimore Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond where she was the responsible senior officer for disaster recovery, strategic planning, accounting/budgeting, business development, public relations, human resources, and bank security. She had district and system responsibility in business development, economic education, and customer relations. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve, Peggy served as full-time faculty in the Johns Hopkins School of Continuing Studies (now School of Education). While at JHU, in addition to teaching, she worked in academic program development, new degree development and approval, faculty recruitment and evaluation, budget management, and grant writing.

Prior to 1977, Peggy taught at City University of New York, Rutgers University, VPI, and Loyola College. She holds a Bachelors degree in economics from the College of New Rochelle, both a master’s and doctorate from Rutgers University, and an MAS (now MBA) in information technology management from Johns Hopkins. She completed the Federal Reserve Executive Training from the University of Chicago, and has completed specialty programs at both the University of Virginia and Harvard University.
