Online MS in Management - Program

The program is an executive level online program customized to address the needs of busy professionals in demanding careers. Johns Hopkins School of Education experts in educational theory and technology joined faculty from the Division of Public Safety to design a highly interactive, rigorous, engaging, and manageable program based on a user-centered approach, where the student is at the heart of the process. Our approach to online learning is based on effective practices, drawn from research conducted at Johns Hopkins and on existing best practices regarding distance learning. It is designed to employ the best methods of learning theories including adult learning and experiential learning, and the best mix of academic theory and practical application.

Effective student communication is key to our program. Students will have a map of the program, and a map of each course to assist them with time management and clearly guide them through the learning process. Reading, assignment, exercise, and project due dates are clearly apparent and students use the course maps to manage their workload effectively.

In addition, throughout the program, faculty and staff provide a high level of support and interaction through a high-quality, customized electronic learning system and a digital portfolio. Coaching and mentoring are available to students electronically or by phone.
